‘A different language is a different vision of life.’ | Federico Fellini
Learning at El Casal means developing a real connection with Spain and it’s people that goes deeper than that available to a tourist. El Casal’s program is designed to engage your curiosity about the world around you, learning in ways that probably haven’t been available to you until now. The goal is to experience a relevant, day-to-day language and cultural immersion.
Our language classes take place at the Pompeu Fabra University and young people from all over the world will be your classmates. No matter what your Spanish level, beginner or advanced, you’ll be in a dynamic and stimulating learning environment.
A core workout
At El Casal, learning about Spain means moving beyond folklore, sightseeing excursions and the stereotypical perceptions of the country. Our core course examines current issues such as migration, economic policy, health care, territorial tensions, the impact of tourism, and the role of women in contemporary Spain. These and other issues are examined from historical and artistic perspectives and through film studies.
What students think about our core course
Great experience at UPF
Our teacher [at UPF] was great; always really prepared and great at teaching and explaining things clearly.
The best Spanish classes
The classes at Universidad Pompeu Fabra were probably the best Spanish classes I have ever taken.
